I help tech scale-ups and their search partners make better hiring decisions, by bringing clarity, realism, and independent judgement into moments that matter.

JDF Solutions exists to sit alongside hiring teams and executive search firms, not to replace them. The work is deliberately independent, research-led, and focused on reducing risk before commitment is made.

A different approach to hiring decisions

Most hiring problems don’t come from lack of effort or intent. They come from decisions being made with incomplete information, distorted signals, or untested assumptions about the market.

My role is to slow the decision down just enough to introduce clarity:

What talent actually exists
What’s realistic given the context
Where risk is being underestimated
Where confidence is justified and where it isn’t

That clarity changes outcomes.

Experience and perspective

I’ve spent over 20 years working with technology businesses at different stages of growth, supporting senior and specialist hires where the cost of getting it wrong is high.

That experience spans:

Direct work with founders and leadership teams
Close collaboration with executive search firms
Research-led support for investors and boards

Across all of it, the constant has been the same: good decisions come from good information, applied with judgement.

Why independence matters

I don’t represent candidates.

I don’t work on contingency.

I don’t have a vested interest in any particular outcome.

That independence is intentional. It allows me to:

Be objective where others can’t
Challenge assumptions constructively
Add signal rather than noise
Support decisions without bias or agenda

It also makes the work complementary, particularly, for executive search partners who value clear, grounded insight.

How I work

The work is structured, discreet, and designed to fit around existing processes. Engagements are clearly scoped, outcomes are defined upfront, and communication is direct and practical.

I’m not interested in over-engineering solutions or adding unnecessary complexity. The focus is always on helping people think clearly and decide well.
